Humana People to People

Humana People to People (HPP) is a network of non-profit aid organisations in Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America, all working in the field of international solidarity, cooperation and development. HPP South Africa started in 1998. Today, HPP has projects in 8 of the 9 provinces in South Africa.

There are projects such as Child Aid – which aims to improve the lives of children, Farmers’ Clubs – supporting small scale farmers, HOPE Humana – an HIV & TB program that aims to build resilience in poor communities, Preschools of the Future –bringing quality pre-school education to the young children in poor communities. Total Control of the Epidemic (TCE) is a huge community mobilisation and education program through door-to-door campaigns building strong communities in the fight against HIV & AIDS & TB, where people and local institutions are well informed about the epidemics and are organised to support those in need.

HPP-TCE started using Soweto Care System (SCS) for short in 2013 to capture the millions of people reached with HIV/AIDS information through one-on-one contacts, capture all subsequent visits to ensure consistency with services provide to beneficiaries, capture attendance registers for group activities like support groups, after school clubs etc. Clients files now are easily accessible on the system and baseline, midway and final program evaluation reports are simply generated from the system.
